WEAVERVILLE, CA -- Graveside services for Vida A. Smith, 89, of Weaverville will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Weaverville Cemetery. Mrs. Smith died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Born Nov. 6, 1910, in Popejoy, Iowa, she moved to Trinity County in 1955 from the Los Angeles area. She worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, owned several restaurants in the Los Angeles area and owned the Junction City Store, the Timber Lodge Restaurant in Douglas City, Babe's Beanery in Weaverville, the Weaverville Variety Store and Sew -- Sew, -- sewing notions store.
Survivors include son Jim Frazee of Weaverville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by McDonald-Files Funeral Chapel in Weaverville.
