Blanche "Marie" Hicks, 93, of Winchester, Virginia died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the Winchester Medical Center. Mrs. Hicks was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Renwick, Iowa, and was the daughter of Wade Hampton Craun and Bertha A. Crosby Craun. She retired as a seasonal worker with Zero Pack for 47 years and worked at O'Sullivan Rubber Company for 13 years. She was a member of Montague Avenue United Methodist Church, the National AARP and National AARP Committee for Social Security and Medicare. On March 12, 1949, she married Thurman E. Hicks. Survivors include a son, Ronald Edward Hicks Sr., and two daughters, Betty Craun Coffelt and Hazel Hicks Beydler, all of Winchester; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Minister Anthony A. Wadsworth will conduct a graveside service 11 a.m. Thursday at Shenandoah Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester.
