Verlajeen (Jean) Olson, of Olathe, Kansas passed away August 14, 2007, in Englewood, Colo. Burial will be September 7, at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. Verla was born in Renwick, Iowa, on April 18, 1921, to Terry and Minnie Mitchell. She lived, attended school, and later co-owned a beauty shop in Renwick until her marriage to Roger Olson in 1946. They made their home in Olathe, where he practiced Chiropractic medicine and she opened a beauty shop. Jean remained very active in her retirement years and enjoyed working part time in the Olathe School District.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include three children, Terry Olson of Littleton, Colo., David Olson of Mountain View, Mo., and Linda Laughlin of Olathe; four grandchildren, Perilyn Johns, Eric Olson, Kristen Stothard and Kayla Logan; and seven great-grandchildren, Christian, Emerson, Hannah, Liam, Adam, Luke and Evan.
