LEBANON, Mo. - Noal Arvil Riles, 88, of Lebanon, Missouri, formerly of Clarion, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in his home. Noal is survived by his wife, Lorene, of the home; three daughters, Carol Christeson, and her husband, Lynn, Webster City, IA, Saundra Titus, and her husband, Wyn, Lebanon, MO, and Judy Halvorsen, and her husband, Jim, Santa Barbara, CA; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Riles, Buffalo, MO; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He owned and operated a GM Car Dealership, C & R Buick and Pontiac and GMC Trucks, in the Clarion area for over 15 years. Noal attended Holmes Baptist Church, in Holmes, Iowa for many years.

Services will be 2 p.m. today, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, MO, with Jim Halvorsen officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Community Baptist Church of Lebanon, MO may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P. O. Box 28, Lebanon, MO 65536.

Noal Arvil Riles, 88, of Lebanon, Missouri, died August 27, 2008 at his home. Funeral services were held August 30 in Lebanon and burial was in the Lebanon Cemetery.

Noal Riles was born December 25, 1919, near Dexter, Missouri, the son of John and Nettie Carpenter Riles. He was raised in southeast Missouri and then moved to Iowa. On March 7, 1949 he was united in marriage to Sarah Lorene Huggins and they made their home in the Clarion area. He worked on a farm for a few years before starting his own trucking business. He then owned and operated C & R Buick, Pontiac and GMC Trucks for fifteen years. In 1979, he and Lorene moved to Missouri and in 1993 they made their home in Lebanon. While in Clarion he attended Holmes Baptist Church. In his spare time he liked gardening and caring for his yard, always keeping a well manicured lawn. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Noel is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Lorene; three daughters: Carol Christeson and her husband Lynn, of Webster City; Saundra Titus and her husband Wyn of Lebanon and Judy Halvorsen and her husband Jim of Santa Barbara, California; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; a brother, Lowell Riles of Buffalo, Missouri and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Cassie Knight; four half-brothers: Jim, Ardie, Charlie and Tommy Riles; and two half-sisters, Ellie Hood and Effie Shepherd.
