Naomi A. Fawcett, the daughter of Willson and Ivalie (Wilhelm) Lewis, was born May 25, 1911, in Goldfield, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. After high school graduation in 1929, she attended Business College in Des Moines.

Naomi married Harold C. Brooks on April 25, 1930. To this union, two sons were born. Harold died in February 1961. Naomi moved back to her hometown, and worked with her brother, Gene at Louie's Apco Station in Goldfield. In 1964, she married Marvin E. Fawcett on September 12, at the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, and Naomi enjoyed traveling, fishing crocheting, embroidery and reading.

Naomi passed away at Wright Medical Center in Clarion, Iowa on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at the age of 97 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Duane Brooks; a daughter-in-law, Norma Brooks; brother, Virgil Lewis, and a sister, Iris Bisher. Survivors include her husband, Marvin E. Fawcett of Goldfield; son, Robert Brooks and wife Shirley of McEwen Tennessee; grandchildren, James Brooks of McEwen, TN; Wiley Brooks, Linda Brooks, and Alice Lucille Brooks-Seiber, all of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers and sisters, Glen Lewis of Olathe, Kansas, Marjorie Schauer of Waseca, Minnesota, Gene Lewis and wife Phyllis of Clarion and Bonnie Sheets and husband Merle of Goldfield; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 22, 2008, 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield with Reverend Don Morrison officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
