A.F. Davenport, 89, rural Butler, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died March 16, 1993, at St. Joseph Health Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Underwood-Steinbeck Chapel, Butler; burial in Independence Cemetery, near Hume, Mo. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the cemetery association. Mr. Davenport was born in Belmond, Iowa, and lived in Kansas City and Hume before moving to Butler in 1974. He worked for Hattaway Electric in Kansas City, retiring in 1966. Survivors include his wife, Edith Davenport of the home; two sons, David Frank Davenport, Rich Hill, Mo., and Michael Mark Davenport, Butler; a brother, Bernard Davenport, and a sister, Bernice Bohning, both of Belmond; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
