Curtis Pals, 41, died Friday, June 9, 1989, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Our Saviour's Free Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls.

Curtis Pals was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Daniel and Bernita Pals. He grew up and attended schools in Meservey, Iowa. He joined the U.S. Navy in March 1967 and served 21 years until he retired in January 1988. On April 29, 1971, he married Pamela Peterson in Caronado, Calif. They moved to Thief River Falls where he managed the Family Bowl. Survivors are his wife; daughters, Jennifer and Brenda, both of Thief River Falls; his mother, living in Belmond, Iowa; sisters, Lois (Mrs. Duane) Diggs, Fountain, Colo., Debra (Mrs. Terry) Harris, Lemon Grove, Calif.; brothers, Delbert, Mason City, Iowa, Harlan, Billings, Mont., Keith, Sanborn, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and nephew, Lowell Halladay.
