GRAND PRAIRIE, TX - Kenneth D. Payne, 77, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: noon Tuesday, Moore Funeral Home Bowen Road Chapel. Burial: Full military honors will be provided, 2 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
Memorials: Alzheimers Foundation of America.
Kenneth was born in Meservey, Iowa. He retired as master sergeant after 27 years in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an inflight refueler. During that time he flew more than 250 missions over Vietnam without any incidents. Kenneth earned an associate's degree in industrial mechanics and was very talented with mechanical items and woodworking where he could repair anything. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Yoko, on Dec. 10, 2006; his mother, Goldie Guldberg; and stepfather, Leland Guldberg. Survivors: Sons, Mike Dean Payne and Terry Lee Payne; daughters-in-law, Robin Payne and Barbara Payne; grandchildren, Stacia Short, Mindi Acosta, Jacki Payne, Connor Payne and Toby Payne; seven great-grandchildren; aunt, Betty Johnson.
