KANAWHA- William Davids, 86, of Kanawha, passed away Tuesday (Aug.7, 2001) at his home. Funeral services for William will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church with Pastor G. David Daley officiating. Burial will be at the Wright Christian Reformed Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Ewing Dugger Funeral Home in Kanawha.
William was born March 8, 1915, to James and Katie (Baker) Davids at rural Kanawha. He was educated in country school, Norway #3. He farmed with his parents until his marriage. He married Irene Boomgarden on Sept. 19, 1938, in Clarion. They farmed near Kanawha until moving to Belmond in 1964, where they lived until returning to Kanawha in 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; two sons, Roger Davids and his wife, Karen, of Council Bluffs, and Jim Davids and his, wife, Anita, of Des Moines; three daughters, Ramona and her husband, Eugene Harken, of Aplington, Suzanne and her husband, Jack Magness, of Beatrice, Neb. and Doris Swenson and her fiancé, Mark Zirbel, of Ventura; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two very special people, Marvin and Beverly Boomgarden; five brothers, Bert, Marienus, John, Bob and Dan Davids and one sister, Della Davids. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ann Leerar and Lena Tincher; two brothers-in-law, Bill Leerar and Bill Tincher; one sister-in-law, Rosalyn Davids; and one great-granddaughter.
