Zelda Baxter, 81, died on Sunday, April 27, 2003, in Sacto, California, following a long battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Sacto.

Zelda was born on August 22, 1921 in Goodell, the daughter of Charles and Wini Conklin. She graduated from AIB in Des Moines and moved to Denver, Colorado, where she met her husband of 57 years, Richard. Zelda was an active member of many organizations, including the Tuesday Club, PEO Chapter EI, and United Methodist Women. She retired in 1984 after 22 years as secretary in the math department at CSUS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Dale and Archie Conklin. Survivors include her husband; children Jerry (Jan) Baxter, Diane (Louie) Hoop and Darell (Debbie) Baxter; grandchildren, Tanya, Jason, Kerry, Jenna and Jeremy.
