Funeral services for Harold "Bud" T. Johnson, 76, Spring Lake Park, took place Jan. 13 at Emmanuel Christian Center. Rev. Steve Finton officiated. Johnson died Jan. 10, 2003 at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Kanaua, [Kanawha] Iowa, to Lawrence Johnson and Ethel Hann. He was a retired landscaper for Anoka County Parks Department, volunteer driver for Anoka County, a volunteer at the humane society, and a Word War II veteran serving as a Navy armed guard in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion VFW, and a chaplain of Kraus-Hartig seniors.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters, Karen and husband Jimmy Schlageter, Beverly and husband Joel Goodwin; sister, Gertrude Wright; grandchildren, William (Billy), Karline and husband Dan, Terri and husband Mike; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jennifer, Dylan and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers were Zach McNiel, Mike Burgher, Ry Dawson, Josh Bedard, Dustin Carlson and Jason Sweet. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa. Arrangements were by Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Blaine Chapel.
