Merlin W. Claude, son of William I Claude and Lydia Hilpipre Claude, was born Jan. 4, 1929. He passed away on Sat. July 19 at his home in Hitchcock, Texas. He was a former Woolstock resident. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Survivors include daughter Joyce (Dwight) Middleton of Webster City, sons Rodney Claude (Connie) of DeWitt, and Roger Claude of Boone; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Wilma Sylvester, Sioux City, and Phyllis Lohf, Santee, Calif.

HITCHCOCK - Mr. Merlin William Claude passed from this life Saturday, July 19, 2008, at his home.
Born January 4, 1929, in Woolstock Township, Iowa, Mr. Claude had been a resident of Hitchcock for 40 years, previously of Webster City, Iowa. He had been employed at Gulf Coast Pools for more than 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lydia (Hilpipre) Claude. Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Corrine Barrow: stepdaughter, Donna Luttrell both of Hitchcock, Texas. Hayes Funeral Home
