Herbert "IOWA" R. Worrick, 66, of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, July 20, 2008. He was born Jan. 19, 1942 in Clarion, Iowa to Bernard and Gertrude Worrick. Iowa was a Ret. Master Sergeant from the US Army where served honorably for more than 27 years in the Air Defense Artillery Brigade. He has also attended the University of Texas at El Paso. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and bowling. Mr. Worrick will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Janet of the family home; sons Bernard Worrick and companion Tammy McCarl of Jacksonville, FL and Kevin Worrick and wife Kerri of Piney Point, Maryland; daughter Schandra Andrew of Jacksonville, FL; brother Howard of Iowa; sisters Connie and Louise both of Oklahoma. His four grandchildren Juliana, Monique, Wesley and Taylor also survive Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home. Graveside Services to celebrate his life will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home corner of Solano and Bowman Ave., Las Cruces, NM 526-2419.
