Harm D. Terhark, of Corwith, died on Monday, December 17, 2001. He was 70. Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 20, at the St. John Lutheran Church, Corwith. The Rev. Ronald Feuerhak officiated. Music was provided by organist, Catherine Devine who accompanied congregational hymns. Usher were Richard Hankom and Craig Steenhard. Casket bearers were Bruce Terhark, Joshua Hays, Brian Terhark, Michael Robinson, Kennth Hays, Curtis Terhark, Carroll Terhark and Kenneth Terhark. Burial was in the Corwith Cemetery. A flag presentation was by the Corwith American Legion. The Ewing Funeral Chapel of Britt was in charge of the arrangements.

Harm Duane Terhark, was born on March 31, 1931, to Fred and Anna Terhark, rural Kanawha. He was the second of eight children. Harm began earning a living at a very young age, working for neighboring farmers. He built a successful farming operation in the Corwith area. In addition to his farming operations, Mr. Terhark was involved in various business enterprises including a salesman for Schroeder and Terhark Trailer Sales. He was often the top dealership for Kiefer Built trailers. Mr. Terhark was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Corwith. He served on the church council on several occasions. Mr. Terhark was a committed family man and was involved in the Corwith community as well. He served on the school board at the local community school for several years. He gave of his time and generosity to the community.

He is survived by his wife, Jean (Nelson) and four children, Marquita Hays of Fort Dodge, Bruce Terhark of Corwith, Paula Robinson of West Des Moines and Brian Terhark of Waukee; seven siblings, Elizabeth Terhark of St. Paul, Minnesota, Curtis Terhark of St. Ansgar, Marge Kavaya of Mason City, Ilene Brown of Mason City, Carroll Terhark of Mason City, Kenneth Terhark of Britt and Linda Paulsen of Mason City; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
