ANKENY— Hilda M. Jury, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 17, at the Ankeny Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 18, at the United Methodist Church in Alden. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., in the Fairview Cemetery in Dows.

Hilda was born on November 23, 1914, to Edward and Emma Draves in Hanlontown. She graduated from the Rowan High School in 1932. Hilda was married to Carl L. Jury on October 12, 1938. Hilda and Carl lived in Dows until 1952, when they made their home and raised their family in Alden. Hilda has been a lifelong member of the Alden United Methodist Church. Hilda was a devoted mother, providing a good home and raising her sons, Dan and Dean after Carl passed away in 1967. Hilda retired from her job as a lab technician at American Cyanamid in 1981. She moved to Ankeny in 1994 to be close to her sons and their families. Hilda enjoyed her friends and senior citizen activities in Ankeny for many years. Her family is thankful for the loving care she received at the Sunny View Care Center where she lived the last two years.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Bev) and Dean (Loreen); grandchildren, Donovan (Sarah) with great-grandson, Davin, Jacob, Mandy Snyder (Josh), Betsy, Christy and Cory, all of Ankeny; brother, Emil Draves of Webster City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; and eight brothers and sisters.
