Joann M. Freerksen, the daughter of Delbert and Edna (Whitmarsh) Fosnaugh, was born November 24, 1943, in Algona, Iowa. She was educated at the Davenport Girls School. Joann was united in marriage to Jerry G. Freerksen on May 17, 1966, at the home of G.D. Warland in Webster City, Iowa. The couple made their home in Webster City, where Joann raised her two sons. Joann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. She enjoyed car races and high school sports in Webster City.

Joann passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City at the age of 64 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry on August 7, 2003 and six brothers and sisters. Survivors include her sons, Darrell and his wife Jenna of Burlington and Charles and special friend Mindy of Webster City; two grandsons, Joshua and Cole; sister, Lorraine Anderson of Eagle Grove and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008, 11:00 A.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove with Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiating. Visitation is Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be directed to the Freerksen Family, 1501 Division Street, Webster City, Iowa 50595.
