Humboldt, IA - William Veldhouse, 80, Humboldt, died Sept. 10, 1997, at Liberty, Mo., followed an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home, Humboldt, with the Rev. Jill Sneed-Bobholz officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery, Livermore. There will be no visitation.

Survivors include sons David, Liberty, Mo., and Jerry, Higginsville, Mo.; brother Duane, Herman, Minn.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harold, John, Nick, Floyd, Robert, and Dale; sisters Mary and Ruth.

William Veldhouse was born May 27, 1917, at Kanawha and was raised and educated there. In 1941, he married Faith Hoppe at Corwith. In 1946, they began farming near Gilmore City. He retired in 1981 and moved to Humboldt. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge Riverview 20 and of the Rebekah Lodge. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of Liberty, Liberty, Mo.
