CLINT NORRIS, 81, DIES SUDDENLY; TAMA SERVICES

Clinton D. Norris, 81, 1409 South Center, Marshalltown, retired C&NW Railway conductor, died of a heart attack at 9:00 o'clock Tuesday morning, Oct. 26. Mr. and Mrs. Norris, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Abbie Sechna, had gone to the LeGrand quarry to get some gravel to put around a flower bed, when Mr. Norris was stricken.

Private services for relatives and close friends will be held from the Harrison Funeral Home, Tama, Friday afternoon, at 2:30. Rev. Jack Mauldin, pastor of the Marshalltown Presbyterian Church, of which Mr. Norris was a member, will officiate. Friends may call at the Harrison Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Tama.

Clinton D. Norris was born March 28, 1890, in Carroll, Iowa, son of Edwin and Rose Norris. The family moved to Tama when he was a small boy and he was educated in the Tama schools. On Nov. 25, 1914, he was married to Anna Mott of Tama. Mr. Norris was employed as conductor by the C&NW Railway and after their marriage, moved to Eagle Grove. Shortly thereafter, he was transferred to Chicago, where the couple lived until his retirement in 1954. After his retirement Mr. and Mrs. Norris built a new home in Marshalltown on South Center street, where he resided until his death.

Survivors include his wife, a brother, Verne Norris, Toledo, a step-sister, Mrs. August Mergele, Mankato, Minn., and several more distant relatives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Norris and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Edwards.
