May 12, 1996NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - Inez B. Scherzinger, 83, a retired schoolteacher, died Thursday at a health-care facility. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Inez Scherzinger was born Nov. 25, 1912, in Norway, Iowa. [ed. Norway Township near Kanawha, Iowa]
She was a member of Birdville Retired Teachers Association and Calvary Lutheran Church. She was retired from the Birdville school district and taught at Mullendore Elementary School for approximately 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Scherzinger, on Feb. 18, 1988. Survivors: Daughter, Mary LaCroix and husband, Jim, of North Richland Hills; two brothers, Tom Thompson and wife, Elsa, of Ames, Iowa, and Abe Thompson of Las Vegas; three sisters, Alice Abbas of Kanawha, Iowa, Jan Nicholson of Phoenix and Ruth Popp and husband, Steve, of Phoenix; grandson, Andrew Dodson of Washington, D.C.; and her loving church family at Calvary Lutheran Church.
