Mary Lou Deibler, 62, of Sioux City, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, in her home after a long illness. Graveside services - 1 p.m. Saturday, Kanawha Cemetery, Kanawha, by the Rev. Carol James of Trimble United Methodist Church, Sioux City. There will be no visitation. Her body was cremated. Arrangements with Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, Sioux City.

Survivors include a daughter, Beth Kavanaugh (Daniel) of Sioux City; a brother, Gerald "Buzz" Deibler (Nell) of Cedar Rapids; a stepbrother, Bill Scott of Cedar Rapids; and a grandson, Thomas Kavanaugh of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Born Aug. 26, 1940, in Kanawha, Iowa, the daughter of Loren and Mildred (Remer) Deibler, she moved to Sioux City in 1986 from Cedar Rapids. Mary Lou was a care giver for several people in Sioux City, where she attended Trimble United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and animals. She will be fondly remembered for her remarkable sense of humor.
