PURCELL, Okla. - Alycia Anita "Ann" Dempsey, 82, of Purcell, Okla., and formerly of the Belmond, Mason City, Nevada and Clarion areas, died Monday (July 7, 2008) at the Norman Regional Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, in Purcell, Okla., with Father Michael Vaught officiating. Burial will follow at the Lexington Catholic Cemetery in Lexington, Okla. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home, in Purcell, Okla.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Alycia Anita "Ann" Dempsey, 82, of Purcell will be held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory of Catholic Church in Purcell with the Rev. Michael Vaught officiating. A Rosary Service will be held tonight (Thursday), July 11, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Wilson-Little Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Lexington Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell. Mrs. Dempsey died July 7, 2008 at Norman Regional Hospital.She was born May 15, 1926 in Davis, the older of two children of Elvis Gilbert and Magnola Uria (Myers) Ramsey. She moved a lot in her younger years, graduating from Muskogee High school in 1946. On Oct. 21, 1945 she married Robert Edward Dempsey in Muskogee. Together they reared seven children. They moved to Belmond, Iowa, Oklahoma City, Mason City, Nev., and Clarion, Iowa, before settling in Purcell in 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cynthia Arms and a sister-in-law, Frances Ramsey. Survivors include her husband, Robert, of the home; five sons, Thomas Dempsey and his wife, Sue, of Mason City, Iowa, John A. Dempsey and his wife, Pam, of Purcell, James B. Dempsey and his wife, Charlene, of Ft. Smith, Ark., Robert J. Dempsey and his wife, Michelle, of Oklahoma City and Dennis Dempsey of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Deanna Marie Drake and her husband, Chris, of Fredricksburg, Va.; one brother, Elvis T. (Dee) Ramsey of Kingston; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her sons, Thomas, John, James, Robert and Dennis Dempsey and her grandson, Douglas Dempsey.
