1 May 1851 -- 16 April 1925

Mrs. Sisson passed away at her home Thursday morning at eight o'clock after a week's illness with pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the church Sunday at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Farnham. Burial was in the Galt cemetery. Friends extend to the bereaved family their deepest sympathy. Sarah Kathreen Manasmith was born at McVeytown, Penn., on May 1, 1851, coming to Davenport, Iowa, with her parents in 1852, where she made her home until she was united in marriage to Peter A. Spindon. To this union was born one child, Martha Lucinda, who passed away Aug. 7, 1919. Mr. Spinden passed away Jan. 2, 1875. On Feb. 19, 1879, she was united in marriage to Charles H. Sisson and to this union were born three children, namely, George H. Sisson of Pine Bluffs, WY., Wm. R. of New Castle, CO., and Mable Probst of Galt. Death called her at Galt, Iowa April 16, 1925, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 15 days. Besides these children she leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Chas. H. Sisson and two brothers and one sister, namely, Geo. W. Manasmith of Chillicothe, IL., Miller Lee Manasmith of Riverside and Mrs. Ruth Kar of Cedar Rapids, also sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of friends. She united with the United Brethren church at the age of 16, and remained true to the church and God all through life.
