Mrs. Helen Sarah Barz, 501 South Laurel Street, Mishawaka, Indiana died at 7 am Sunday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Bairey, of Niles Michigan. She had been ill 18 months. She was born in Belmond, Iowa, June 10, 1878, and came here 10 years ago from Williston, North Dakota. She married in [June 10] 1895 in Belmond to Charles Barz; who died in 1928. She leaves seven daughters, Mrs. Rudolph Lydeen of South Bend, Mrs Bairey of Niles, Michigan; Mrs. Fred Potts of Mishawaka; Mrs. Bessie Horn of Tippecanoe, Indiana, Mrs. Ida Pelzman of Oriska, North Dakota; Mrs. Lillian Lediefieldt, Fingal, North Dakota; and Mrs. Ruth Leese of Jamestown, North Dakota; two sons, Theodore of Niles and Earl of Buchanan, Michigan; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Williams of Des Moines, Iowa; 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Friends may call in the Hay funeral home from 6 pm to 10 am Thursday. Rev. Bernard Horn, pastor of the Bourbon, Indiana Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill, Mishawaka.
