Funeral services for Refugia L. “Cuca” Montecino, 88, formerly of Moline, are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. A memorial fund has been established.

Ms. Montecino died Friday, June 20, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Okla. Refugia was born Dec. 9, 1919, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Stephen and Leonarda Baltierra Montecino. Cuca retired after 30 years of service from the former International Harvester Works, East Moline. She was devoted to her church, enjoyed reading, shopping and watching the old classics on TV. She also enjoyed visiting with family and riding the bus.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Amaria and Palmer Ramsey Jr., Edmond, Okla.; granddaughter, Tiffany Ramsey, Edmond; a sister, Frances Ruiz, Moline; a brother-in-law, Poncho Moreno; a sister-in-law, Annie Montecino; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jessie Moreno and Rose Montecino; and a brother, Ramon Montecino.
