William L. Baker, 81, a 50-year resident of Elmhurst, Illinois died June 11.

Mr. Baker was born Sept. 3, 1926 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired executive director of his own demolition company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda H. (nee Marks) and his brother, Mac Baker. He is survived by his children, Wendy (Rick) Richter and Bill (Polly) Baker; his grandchildren, Ronald, Matthew and Jessica Richter and Bill and Zachary Baker; his sister, Monon (the late George) Dunn; and his brother-in-law, Dale Kemp.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until a 3 p.m. memorial service on June 20 at Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York Road, Elmhurst, with the Rev. John Vartigan of St. Peters UCC, Elmhurst officiating. Memorials in Mr. Baker's name may be made to The American Cancer Society, 1801 S. Meyers Road, Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace IL 60181.
