Mrs. Aagot K. Meyer, 80, Galesburg, IL, formerly of Humboldt, Iowa, died at 11:59 PM Sunday, July 9, 2006 in Galesburg Terrace. She was born January 9, 1926 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Julius and Christina Lund Knutson. She married Elvin C. Meyer in Thor, Iowa in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by 2 sons, Randy (and Sara) Meyer, Mankato, MN and Kevin Meyer, Humboldt, 2 daughters, Maureen (and Tom) Steil, Galesburg and Deb Haglund, Iowa Falls, IA, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.

She was raised and educated in Thor, Iowa and graduated from Thor High School. She attended business school at Eagle Grove Junior College. She worked at the hemp plant in Humboldt and then was a Watkins and Avon representative for many years. After her children were grown, she was a cook at Humboldt High School for many years. She moved to Galesburg in 2002. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, ELCW, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Humboldt. She loved to fish, play games, especially Chinese checkers, watch her children’s and grandchildren’s events, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, watching every televised game.

Funeral was Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The Rev. Paul Bengtson officiated. Burial was in Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
