Joseph C. Huibsch, 80, of Iowa Falls passed away Friday June 6, 2008 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. A Mass of Resurrection for Joseph Huibsch will be 10:00 am Tuesday June 10, 2008 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Iowa Falls. Burial will be in St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be the American Legion Hyman - Peavey post # 188 members. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Don Fejear, Norman Wallen, John O'Brien, Duane Lloyd, Jim Starr, Roger Marchant, Joe White, and Dr. Robert Dunley. A Rosary and Scripture Service will be held at 4:30 pm Monday at the Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls followed by a time of visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The Linn's Funeral Homes, Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Joseph Carlysle Huibsch was born June 10, 1927 at Eagle Grove, Iowa to Mary Caroline [Flynn] and Martin Vincent Huibsch. He attended school in Eagle Grove, Ia. and graduated with the class of 1945. He attended college at Eagle Grove Junior College and Ellsworth Community College graduating with the class of 2003. He was confirmed and Baptized at Eagle Grove in 1927. On August 8, 1967 Joe was united in marriage to Gladys M. Swenson in Calmar, Iowa. He was a Jeweler and Hearing Aid Dealer and was the owner of Joseph's LTD from 1967 until retirement in 2005. He was a member of St. Mark's Parrish, Iowa Falls; Lay Minister, and Eucharistic Minister. He was in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946 In the United States Navy Reserve from 1946 to 1958; Iowa Army National Guard, 1967 to 1973. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; Life member of 34th Division Association; Member of Iowa Order Of Odd Fellows Lodge # 100; Past President of Iowa State Jewelers Association.; Past President of the Iowa Guild of American Gem Society; Past President of Iowa Association of Hearing Health Protoligist; Member of the Loyal Order of The Moose Lodge # 1331; 40 & 8 (Life member); Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1674; and National Rifle Association Rifle and Pistol Association. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbia, Past Grand Knight from 1946 to 1947; Past President of Iowa Falls Lions Club, American Legion Past Commander and County Commander.

Joseph is survived by his wife Gladys, Iowa Falls; One brother, Francis [Margaret] Huibsch of Joplin, Mo. and one sister, Catherine [Francis] Killelea of Ottawa, Ill.: He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Huibsch and one brother, Edmund Huibsch.
