DOWS -- Shirley Mae Schroeder, 69, of Dows, died Friday (May 17, 1996) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Vernon Lutheran Church, rural Dows, with the Rev. Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Elledge Funeral Home, Dows.

Shirley Mae Schroeder was born March 18, 1927 on her grandparents farm in Vernon Township. Survivors include her husband, Wilbur, of Dows; two sons, Steven of Estherville, and Douglas of Swisher; one brother, Roger Jacobson of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
