The Oregonian (Portland, Oregon)
October 20, 1989

A service for Frank Rexford "Rex" Hanson, a Northeast Portland resident, was conducted Tuesday. Mr. Hanson died of cardiac arrest Saturday in a Portland hospital. He was 70. He was born April 8, 1919, in Clarion, Iowa, but had lived most of his life in the Portland area. He married Ruth M. Harris on Nov. 25, 1942. Mr. Hanson worked as manager for Tiny's Restaurant from 1981 until his retirement in 1986. He previously had worked as a night foreman for the Port of Portland for a number of years and had been employed as a longshoreman for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors besides his wife include his daughters, Virginia Radekin and Debbie Dew, both of Oregon City, Sherrie Johnson of Milwaukie and Kathy Russell and Carole West, both of Portland; sons, Rex L. and Eric L., both of Portland; brothers, C. Wesley of Oregon City, Milton of Scappoose and W.W. of Florida; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial was in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Multnomah School of the Bible.
