The Oregonian (Portland, Oregon)
July 12, 1990Clarence Wesley "Wes" Hanson of Oregon City died of a cerebral hemorrhage Friday in a Clackamas hospital at the age of 69. A funeral was held Tuesday in Peake Memorial Chapel in Milwaukie. He was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Clarion, Iowa. A resident of the Portland area since 1933, he married Esther Harris on Nov. 10, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pa. Mr. Hanson was employed as a longshoreman through International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Local 8 for many years until his retirement in 1982.
In addition to his wife, survivors include daughters, Tamara Ovalle of Molalla and Cynthia Gastro of Gladstone; sons, Wesley and David, both of Oregon City, and Stephen of St. Helens; and 12 grandchildren. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances be contributions to Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
