RUTH ELLEN KITZMILLER

A funeral was held Wednesday, April 9, 1997, in Penttila'sChapel by the Sea in Long Beach, Wash., for Ruth Ellen Kitzmiller, who died April 3 at age 87. A cryptside service followed in Portland Memorial Mausoleum.

Mrs. Kitzmiller was born April 25, 1909, in Clarion, Iowa. Her maiden name was Cary. She was a graduate of West Linn High School and was a nurse at the old Oregon City Hospital. She was a member of the Ocean Park Community Church and the First Baptist Church in Gladstone. She lived in Oregon City until moving to the coast 27 years ago. Her late first husband was Fred Smith. In 1968, she married Harland.

Survivors include her husband; stepdaughters, Carol Blanton of Long Beach, Wash., Wanda Carr of Lewiston, Idaho, and Nancy Brusie of Oregon City; stepsons, John of Joseph and David of Arlington; and numerous stepgrandchildren.
