WASHINGTON - Earl Glen Aupperle, 82, of 401 Briargate Road, Washington, died at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday (April 18, 2000) at Pekin Manor, Pekin, Illinois. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Robert N. Brite Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Pekin. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 3000 Kelley Lane, Springfield, IL 62707.

He was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Bartonville, the son of Albert and Clara Farlin Aupperle. He married Shirley E. Orcutt on Nov. 18, 1940, in Clarion, Iowa. He later married Edna M. Anderson on Feb. 7, 1970, in East Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Gary L. (Diane) Aupperle, Pekin; Gordon A. (Theresa) Aupperle, East Peoria; and Dennis R. Aupperle, Chillicothe; one stepson, Richard (Oneta) Moon, North Pekin; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 17 stepgreat grandchildren. His parents and five sisters, Rose Whitman, Bertha Clark, Lucy York, Lorraine Pendola and Mabel Donaldson, preceded him in death.
