Harold Lawrence Fothergill died Dec. 27, 1999, at age 82. No service will be held. Mr. Fothergill was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1941 to 1946. He received bachelor's and master's degrees from UCLA and worked as a geologist for Union Oil Co. of California for 35 years, retiring in 1982 and moving to Oregon in 1991. He married Grace Maple in 1947. Survivors include his wife; sons Bruce of Sandy and Barry of Ventura, Calif. The family suggests remembrances to the Alzheimer's Association.
