Arman Linwood Gowen, 63, Sarasota, Florida died April 23, 2003. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Belmond, Iowa, and came to Sarasota in 1985 from Iowa. He was a caregiver and a Navy veteran. He graduated from Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa, with a bachelor of science in speech. He was a Christian.

Survivors include his sisters Lyn Garrett of Prattville, Ala., Sue Olson of Sioux City, Janet Mlenar of Venice, and Julie Cochran of Smiths, Ala.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church, Peale Chapel. National Cremation Society, Venice chapter, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mote Marine Laboratory, Sea Turtle Program, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL 34236.
