WISCONSIN DELLS--Mary Simonitsch, age 89, of Wisconsin Dells, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at the Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born Oct. 5, 1918, in Dows, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Marie (Bacon) Warman. She married Charles Simonitsch in Des Moines, Iowa, in July 1944 and they raised their family in Moorhead, Minn. In 1967, they moved to Wisconsin Dells. Mary loved to work in the garden raising flowers and vegetables and she enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 Auxiliary of Wisconsin Dells, Homemaker's Club, Ladies Sodality at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church and St. Mary Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mary is survived by her sons, Robert (Joanne) of Lake Villa, Ill., Roland (Lisa) of Richland Center and Thomas (Margie) of Baraboo; daughters, Margaret (David) Crummy of Monticello, Minn., Anna (Lloyd) Weber of Endeavor, Mary (Mark) McConaughey of LaCrosse and Irene (Nick) Klapper of Milwaukee; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Charles; brother, Howard Warman and sister, Lois Abels. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH in Briggsville, with Father James Murphy celebrating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lake Delton, assisted the family with arrangements.
