Dorothy Jean Allen of Denver, a teacher, died Wednesday in Denver. She was 79. Services were Saturday at Washington Park United Methodist Church. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge. She was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. On June 12, 1948, she married Edwin R. Allen in Denver. She worked as a teacher's aide and teacher in Iowa and in the Cherry Creek schools in Colorado. She was a member of the Masonic Order of the Eastern Star, Patchworkers Green Thumb Garden Club, a craft club and a cinema club, among other organizations.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Guerrero, Grand Junction, Sandra Jordan, Boulder, Donna Kittell, Wyoming.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
