Edward C. Pederson, 88, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, April 30, at Skiff Medical Center Hospice unit in Newton. Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, May 5, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. The visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Vicki (Dennis) Porter, Newton; Cathie Miehe, Waterloo; Joni (Curt) Mitchell, Houston, TX; six grandchildren, Brian (Anna) Porter, Overland Park, KS; Seth (Ann) Porter, Shawnee, KS; Mindy Miehe, Kansas City, MO; Matthew Miehe, Waterloo, and Cory and Taylor Mitchell, Houston, TX.; great-grand daughter, Payton Grace Porter, Overland Park, KS.; a sister, Alice Lyon, Sherman Oaks, CA.; and special friend, Dorothy Vettel, Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Velma and Margaret, and his brothers, Marvin, Bjarne, Norman and Bobby (Robert).

Edward C. Pederson, the son of John and Anna (Selvick) Pederson, was born June 12, 1919, in Sioux City, Iowa. Edward served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945, serving at the rank of Staff Sergeant. On June 3, 1944, Edward was united in marriage to Velma Anderson in Mason City. She preceded him in death in 1988. In 1990, Edward was married to Margaret Chapman at Eagle Grove and she preceded him in death in 1996. Edward owned and operated the Pederson-Sells Equipment Company, Inc. until his retirement in 1986. Edward was a long time member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church where he served on the building and grounds committee and on other church boards. He was a member of the Elks Club, and of the Masons and Shriners for over 50 years.

Memorials may be directed to St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge, or Hospice of Jasper County.
