GOODELL- Deloris A. Robbins, 75, of Goodell, joined Lee in heaven on Wednesday (April 16, 2008) at the Belmond Medical Center. A Mass of Christian burial for Deloris Robbins will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond, with Father Paul Lippstock officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Francis Cemetery near Belmond. Visitation for Deloris Robbins will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. today, April 18, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick's Lane S. in Belmond. A Scriptural service will be held at 7 p.m.
Deloris Arlene, the daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Garberick) Green, was born January 17, 1933, in Belmond. She grew up in Belmond where she attended school, graduating from Belmond High School. Following high school, Deloris attended beauty school at Iowa Cosmetology School in Des Moines. Deloris was united in marriage to Lee Robbins on December 27, 1952. They made their home in Goodell. She had a beauty shop in her home for a number of years. Deloris and Lee enjoyed dancing together, as well as playing cards, traveling, and family picnics. The highlight of her life was time spent with her family. Deloris was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church in Goodell and St. Francis Xavier Church in Belmond as well as the Rosary Society and the Goodell American Legion Auxiliary.
Those left to cherish Deloris' life are her children, Kenneth (Rene') of Belmond; Rita (Tom) Christians of Belmond; Larry (Phyllis) of Goodell; Dave (Linda) of Goodell; Dale (significant other, Michelle) of Clear Lake; Rebecca (Rick) Munoz of Ottumwa; grandchildren, Tony, Matt (significant other, Kellie), Kristina and Natalie Robbins; Clint (Andrea), Nichole, and Neil Christians; Amanda and Mark Robbins; Beth, James (Jamie), and Rachael Robbins; Jillian (significant other, Angie) Logston; Jennifer and Vina Munoz; her sister, Betty Barkema; eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Deloris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Joshua Christians; four sisters; and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wright County Hospice, 115 First St. S.E., Clarion, IA, 50525. Dugger Funeral Home.
