Laurel Faye Burres, the daughter of Everett and Arlene Burres was born January 12, 1961, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Laurie was a life-long member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove and worked at the Humboldt Workshop. She attended school in Eagle Grove and Fort Dodge and participated in the Iowa Special Olympics. Laurie enjoyed music, small animals and being outdoors. She loved her nieces and nephews and being with her family. Laurie lived with her parents, her brother Mark and his family and in the Eagle Grove Group Home. In October 2005 she moved to the Rolfe Care Center.
Laurel died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in Rolfe, Iowa at the age of 47 years. She was preceded death by her parents. Survivors include her siblings: sister and brother in law, Judy and Bernie Musselman of Fort Dodge; sister, Bettie Burres Youngs of Delmar, California; brother and sister in law, Mark and Deb Burres of Eagle Grove; brother and sister in law, Kevin and Peg Burres of Eagle Grove; and brother, Tim Burres of Thor, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastors Paul Stone and H.W. Schiller officiating. Burial will be Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.
Memorial may be left to the discretion of the family. Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
