DOWS - Memorial services for Jeanine Lee Iverson, of Dows, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the First Lutheran Church, Dows, with the Rev. Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Her cremains will be buried in Otis Grove Cemetery, Dows , at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church, in Dows.

Jeanine died Tuesday (Sept. 7, 1999) at the age of 49 years at her home in Dows. She was the wife of State Senate Majority Leader Stewart Iverson Jr.

Jeanine Lee Daum was born in Iowa Falls, Feb. 10, 1950, the daughter, of Henry and Lois Jensen Daum. She was raised on a farm near Buckeye, Iowa and received her elementary education in Buckeye and graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1968. In 1970, she received her AA degree from Ellsworth Community College, in Iowa Falls. On June 14, 1970, she was united in marriage to Stewart Iverson Jr. at Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ, in Alden. Besides being a wife and mother, she has spent the past nine years as her husband's secretary in the Iowa State Legislature. Jeanine was a very active member of the First Lutheran Church, in Dows, a member of the FLCW, American Legion Auxiliary, the Federation of Republican Women and the Legislative League.

Survivors include her parents, Henry and Lois Daum, of Buckeye; husband, Stewart Iverson Jr., of Dows; one daughter, Shelley and husband, Shawn Finnel, of St. Charles, Ill.; one son, Stewart and wife, Nichole Iverson, of Lawrence, Kan.; two grandchildren, Ryan Robert Finnel and Alec Joseph Iverson; and one sister, Josette and husband, Charles, of Urbandale. Elledge Funeral Home, of Dows is in charge of arrangements.
