November 9, 2000CLEAR LAKE - Myrna C. Clark, 91, of 200 10th Ave. N., Clear Lake, died Tuesday (Nov. 7, 2000) at her residence in Clear Lake. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kathy Graves, Chaplin of the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and then will begin after 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family suggest memorials to Hospice of North Iowa.
Myrna was born Feb. 18, 1909, in Dows, the daughter of Edward W. and Lucinda (Bauge) Erickson. She attended school in Dows. Myrna married Steve Sheldon Clark on March 23, 1927, in Hampton. They moved to Gary, Ind., where they were in the restaurant and grocery business. They moved to Clear Lake in 1947 and operated Clark's Sport and Hobby Shop. Myrna loved her dogs, enjoyed traveling, gardening, raising flowers and feeding the birds.
Myrna is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve, in 1995; three sisters, Ila Tanner, LaVonne Anderson and Goldie Trudeau; four brothers, Lloyd, Forrest (Red) and Marvin Erickson and Lavern Baxter. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.
