Agnes Caroline Kellogg, age 94, of Adams, Minnesota died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Adams Health Care Center. She was born April 27, 1907, to Hans and Helen (Espe) Mortenson in Goldfield, Iowa, the fourth of six children. She spent her early years in the Goldfield and Crystal Lake, Iowa area. She graduated from the Crystal Lake High School and the University of Iowa, School of Nursing, Iowa City.

On June 30, 1931, she married Charles Robert Kellogg at her family home near Crystal Lake. They had four children, Marjorie Ann, Morten Winfred, Karen Alice and James Charles. They spent their early married life together in Iowa City while he attended the university and she followed her chosen profession of nursing. In 1933, they returned to the farm in the Crystal Lake area and were members of the Crystal Lake Methodist Church until moving to Minnesota in 1942. In 1944, they moved to their farm in the Clayton Township and have been members of the Marshall Lutheran Church. She worked at the Meadow Manor Nursing Home in Grand Meadow. In later years, they retired and moved up the road to their little farm where she lived until February 1998 when she moved to the Cedar Court Apartments. In March 2001, she entered the Adams Health Care Center were she had lived since. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and cherished her collection of family pictures and letters. She also loved poetry, stories, family games, music and nature.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Marjie and Gerald Meier, Adams; sons and daughters-in-law, Morten and Marlene Kellogg, Taopi; James and Brenda Kellogg, Taopi; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Mortenson, Preston. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Karen; grandson, Randy; twin brother and sister, Hans and Helen; sister, Minnie Carter; brother, Newman.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at the funeral home and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at the Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams with the Revs. Richard Kastner and Allen Gunderson officiating. Organist will be Pat Hinz. Honorary bearers will be Greg Meier, Lorrie Meier, Penny Mazal, Lynn Slavin, Cindy Krull, Becky Kellogg and Luann Kellogg. Casket bearers will be Eric Kellogg, Scott Kellogg, Drue Milner, Ed Kellogg, Chris Krull and Lance Milner. Interment: Marshall Lutheran Cemetery, Marshall, MN. Funeral Home: Adams Funeral Home, Adams, MN
