Mrs. Eliza Payne, at the advanced age of 78 years, died at the home of her son, A. R. Nelson last Wednesday morning. The deceased was a native of New York but had made her home with her son during the past fifteen years, the most of which time she was a helpless invalid. Rev. Devitt of Clarion, conducted the services which were held at the house and were largely attended. The remains were taken to the Clarion cemetery for interment.
