Geneva Georgette Pinkele, the daughter of Samuel Maynard and Marie Olive (Midthun) Gearhart, was born on February 22, 1919, in Bolan, Iowa. She was raised and educated for eleven years in Bolan before moving to Eagle Grove, where she graduated from Eagle Grove High School.
On September 9, 1943, Geneva was united in marriage with Louis Pinkele at Eagle Grove. The couple made their home and farmed near Woolstock until 1952 when they moved north east of Eagle Grove and continued farming. Geneva was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Geneva passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at USA Healthcare in Clarion at the age of 88 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Genevieve; four brothers, Orville, Joseph, Samuel and Merle and a grandson, Adam Pinkele. Survivors include her husband, Louis Pinkele of Eagle Grove; three children: Douglas Pinkele and wife Jeanine of Eagle Grove, Donnalee Gonzalez and husband Rafael of Des Moines and Donald Pinkele and wife Louise of Clear Lake; five sisters-in-law, Evelyn Warmbier and husband Wayne of Algona, Yvonne Skadburg of Midvale, Utah, Lois Gearhart of Eagle Grove, Marie Gearhart of Eagle Grove and Evelyn Gearhart of California; eight grandchildren: John, Jim, Lisa, Jeana, Angel, Jules, Lacey, and Andrew (Andy) and sixteen great-grandchildren: Marissa, Devon, Kailee, Amaya, Diego, Kaiya, Dylan, Dallas, Samantha, Jolet, Jessica, Josh, Jeremy and Jules, Riley and Simeon
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Mary K. Green officiating Visitation will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
