CLEAR LAKE - Kyle Arnold Mennenga, 62, of 10 S. 15th St., Clear Lake, died Monday (Jan. 25, 1999) at his home. His body was cremated. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake.

Kyle Arnold Mennenga was born July 29, 1936, in Belmond, the son of Arnold and Beryl (Hake) Mennenga. He married Virginia "Ginny" Hughes, on July 23, 1960, in Belmond. Kyle grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High School in 1955. He served in the Navy and was stationed on the East Coast. Kyle farmed for many years in the Steamboat Rock area. He and his wife moved to California in 1984, where he did lawn maintenance. In 1991, his family returned to Iowa. Kyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird watching. He loved music and watching movies.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Mennenga, of Clear Lake; two children, Eva Burns and her husband, Robert, of El Centro, Calif., and Robert Mennenga and his wife, Wanda, of Radcliffe; seven grandchildren, Shannon Reinhart and her husband, Grant, of El Centro, Calif., Shaun Burns, of Clear Lake, Sharon Burns, of El Centro, Calif., Chet and Tyler Mennenga, both of Radcliffe, James Mennenga, of Steamboat Rock, and Cody Mennenga, of Radcliffe; three great-grandchildren, Lorainne and Grace Reinhart, both of El Centro, Calif., and Jason, of Clear Lake; two sisters, Verda Rothstein, of Miami, and Cheryl Aldrich, of Clarion; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alyce Mennenga; a daughter in infancy; and a great-grandson, Erin Reinhart.
