Funeral services for Ozella B. Good Thompson, 95, of 702 E. 11th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1918, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today and visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials to Meals on Wheels or the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
She died Monday at Skiff Medical Center of leukemia. Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Ford C. and Florence, of Newton; two daughters, Geraldine Van Dam of Newton and Yukona (Mrs. Herb) Smith of Peoria, Ariz.; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mable Iske of Tustin, Calif., and Lucille Iske of Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack, Feb. 26, 1974, a granddaughter, five brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Thompson, a former employee of Dunlap Corp., was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
The daughter of Andrew Jackson and Cora Malisa Broadstone Good, she was born Feb. 2, 1899 in Montezuma. She was married to J. C. "Jack" Thompson Dec. 12, 1917 in Clarion.The Newton Daily News, Iowa
