WATSON, BUCK, PETERSON

8 August 1833 --- 17 March 1908

Shortly before ten o'clock yesterday morning Thos. Watson passed away at the home of his daughter Miss Ella Watson. Mr. Watson had been in poor health for some time and just a week ago suffered a stroke of paralysis which affected his throat and brain since that time his condition gradually grew worse.

Mr. Watson was a native of Ohio, where he was born eighty years ago. At an early age he came with his parents to Illinois. Coming to Black Hawk County, Iowa, he remained a resident of that locality for forty years, following the occupation of farmer. He continued in that vocation until infirmities of old age prevented his continuing an active life. The family moved to Fort Dodge, and six years ago came to Clarion, which place has since been their home. Owing to his age Mr. Watson did not mingle to a great extent with our people and his acquaintance was therefore limited. In his home he was a good husband and father and it is here that the memory of his good deeds and kind words will remain.

A dutiful wife, two sons Chas. and Ed., and three daughters, Mrs. J. F. Buck, Miss Ella, and Mrs. A. L. Peterson of Ft.Dodge, are left to mourn his loss. Burial, Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
