Sven Holger Anderson, 92, of Clarion passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Careage in Clarion. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13th at the United Methodist Church in Clarion. Pastor Don Morrison officiated the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was held at Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.

Sven Holger Anderson was born December 14, 1915 in Sweden, the son of Algot Konrad (A.K.) and Elsie Marie Ingerson Anderson. The family came to America in 1921 and settled in Wall Lake Township, Wright County, Iowa. On January 26, 1941, Sven was united in marriage with El Vena June Hawe at the Methodist parsonage in Clarion. The couple spent their farming years in Wright and Franklin County. In later years, Sven worked as a service technician for various John Deere Implement dealerships. The couple moved into Clarion in 1973. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion. His favorite free time activities included fishing, visiting with friends and family, and woodworking. Over the years he made many toys, puzzles, outdoor decorations, tables, detailed dominos and checker games, and a grandmother clock.

Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Claude and husband, Francis of Clarion; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife on April 2, 2002; four brothers-Nels, Eldon, Everett and Melvin Anderson.
