ROCHESTER, MN -- The funeral for Lynn Merrill Cameron was held today at First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove, Mo., with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial was in Mountain Valley Cemetery in Mountain Grove, Mo.

Mr. Cameron, 76, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Rochester, died Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2008) at Magnolia Square Nursing Home in Springfield, Mo., following a brief illness. He grew up between Goldfield, Iowa, and Clarion, Iowa, and graduated from high school in Osage, Iowa. He married Jocelyn White on March 3, 1951, in Bricelyn, Minn. The couple lived near Mountain Grove, Mo., for more than 36 years. He was employed as a plumber and pipefitter for more than 45 years. The family lived in Rochester for a while he worked as a pipefitter. About 1950, he attended a Billy Graham crusade; he was a member of First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove, Mo., for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when tending to his beef cattle, horses and dogs. He also liked to do woodworking projects.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeff (Melanie) of Pearland, Texas; four daughters, Julie (Bart) Andrews of Rogersville, Mo., Lisa (Rusty) Millikan of Wichita, Kan., Carol (Matt) Johnston of Springfield, Mo., and Laurie (Todd) Barry of Greenfield, Mo.; a brother, Gary (Kim) of White Plains, Va.; two sisters, Beverly Counsell of Cresco, Iowa, and Cheryl (Dr. John) Whalen of Dubuque, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Lynn Cameron were held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Mtn. Grove, Missouri, with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Song selections were "In The Garden," "Don't Cry for Me." and "His Eye Is On The Sparrow." Pallbearers were Jeremy Cameron, Brad Millikan, David Cameron, Bart Andrews, Todd Barry, and Steve White. Burial was in the Mtn. Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Lynn Merrill Cameron, son of the late Lenard Samuel and Gertrude (Jergensen) Cameron, was born on October 18, 1931 in Goldfield, Iowa, and departed this life on January 22, 2008 in the Magnolia Square Nursing Home in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. He was 76 years, 3 months, and 4 days of age.

Lynn grew up between Goldfield and Clarion, Iowa and graduated from high school in Osage, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Jocelyn White on March 3, 1951 in Bricelyn, Minnesota. Five children were born to this union. They had made their home on Moore Road near Mtn. Grove, Missouri for over 36 years. Lynn was employed as a plumber and pipe fitter for over 45 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when tending to his beef cattle, horses and dogs. He also liked to do woodworking projects. He was saved around 1950 while attending a Billy Graham crusade and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove for many years. He enjoyed attending services and visiting with his church family.

Lynn was a very loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother: Neal Cameron. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Jocelyn Cameron of their home; one son: Jeff Cameron and his wife, Melanie, of Pearland, Texas; four daughters: Julie Andrews and her husband, Bart, of Rogersville, Missouri, Lisa Millikan and her husband, Rusty, of Wichita, Kansas, Carol Johnston and her husband, Matt, of Springfield, Missouri, and Laurie Barry and her husband, Todd, of Greenfield, Missouri; one brother: Gary Cameron and his wife, Kim, of White Plains, Virginia; two sisters: Beverly Counsell of Cresco, Iowa, and Cheryl Whalen and her husband, Dr. John Whalen of Dubuque, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. www.craighurttfuneralhome.com
