Kenneth James Oltman, Born November 18, 1928 in Pekin, Illinois, passed away on February 6, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a loving husband to Esther (Metskas) his devoted wife of 57 years. A beloved father to Lisa Gough (Steve), Karen Slott (Tom), Gregg Oltman, Connie Lindsey (Tim), a wonderful grandfather to Kelly, Erin and Colin Slott, Matthew Gough (Caitlin), Jonathan Lindsey (Beth Ann) and great grandfather to Taylor Ann. The second son of the late Eugene and Evelyn Oltman, he is survived by his brothers, Billie, (the late Helen), Rollie (Kitty) and Gene. He was the loyal brother-in-law to Peter Metskas (the late Sophie), George Metskas (Carolyn), Lorna Metskas (the late Arthur) and the late Mary Metskas, son-in-law to the late Michael and Thomas Metskas and caring uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ken grew up in Argo, Illinois where he met Esther and resided and raised his family in Oak Park, Illinois. He moved to Belmond, Iowa before retiring to Plano, Texas. A proud member of the Marines, Ken will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his devotion to his family and a friend to all he met. He will forever be missed by his family and will always remain in our hearts. Visitation will be held Friday 6-8 p.m. at Sparkman Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Restland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church or The American Cancer Society. Dignity Memorial Sparkman Richardson 1029 S. Greenville Richardson.
